Boards of the Church
The Session consists of the pastors and eighteen elders in active service, elected by the congregation. Session is responsible for the mission and government of the church, including the oversight of all other boards, committees, and organizations.
The Board of Deacons consists of twenty-four Deacons in active service, elected by the congregation. "It is the duty of the Deacons to minister to the sick, the friendless, and any who may be in distress." This is accomplished through the work of a variety of committees and through the administration of the Deacon's Community Outreach Fund. Among other duties, the Deacons also plan many of the church's fellowship activities and arrange for ushers for worship services.
The Board of Trustees consists of nine members in active service elected by the congregation. The responsibilities of the board include overseeing the maintenance of the physical property, buildings, and equipment of the church, as well as working with the Session and managing the finances of the church.
